yeah all the jedi being killed was sad but you gotta remember if that didnt happen obi wan,yoda and the rebels wouldnt of been able to of kicked some clone/stormtrooper ass and if you played the jedi knight games you would of seen that after episode 6 that luke started the late jedi order and kicked some more emperial ass so if all the jedi lived ep 4 5 and 6 might not of happend and the emporer would of had more jedi to make evil (I know all this from experience ^.^)
