This is a humble tribute to one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands. In light of their recent hiatus announcement, this seemed like a fitting time to give tribute to a band that has shaped my musical journey for over ten years.

Flags of Dawn is a VideoSong, a new medium with 2 rules:
1. What you see is what you hear (no lip-syncing for instruments or voice).

2. If you hear it, at some point you see it (no hidden sounds).

Music and Lyrics by Thrice ℗ 2006 The Island Def Jam Music Group.
Cover recorded and performed by Stephen Froeber.

  • Awesome job bro! I like that you didn't wash out the chorus with distoration, Because teppie said he uses little to no dist. Really awesome job! I too will miss the guys, I guess I should just be grateful I got to see them before they left the circut.

  • @Murderknuckles Thanks for the kind words. A little bit of a particular effect goes a long way. I was able to see Thrice live about 4-5 times over the years, and it was always a fantastic show. What a great contribution to music!

  • Man you were rocking, well done putting everything together.

  • @acejcra Thank you very much!

  • Also, totally agree about Thrice - they're the reason why I started playing guitar and singing. What a huge loss to the musical community.

  • @papertigers4 Yeah, it's really sad. However, I can totally relate to their reasoning. It's really tough being away from family for extended periods of time. They had quite the career and made some great music.

  • @papertigers4 Thank you! For the audio, I mostly went DI into an Echo Audiofire 8. For the mic, I used an MXL V69 Tube mic. For Software I'm using Logic 8 and Final Cut Express 4.

  • Oops, my first post didn't go through:

This is a really amazing cover, nice work! What program did you use to record the audio?
