http://www.theathomewelder.com Learn how to use a flap disc on your angle grinder to smooth any metal surfaces and use it to create interesting designs in sheet metal.
I have 2 old steel pipes in my backyard that were used as clothes hangers. I tried to cut them off with a recipricating saw and diamond blade, which didn't work and a chain cutter, which didn't work. The pipes I believe are steel (old drilling pipes?) at probably about 1/4 inch thick. Could an angle grinder with the proper grinder at the end of it cut these pipes? thx
I use these zirconian flap wheels they are great and so quick but if you want to just remove paint or surface rust you have to concentrate as it will go into the good steel just as quick. I always keep one coarse grade and one fairly fine grade. I won't bother with sanding discs again.
Interesting,
No guard to protect you if the disc shatters.
Flange is put on upside down.
Be careful please!

have you looked at Garryson - great discs and they offer the widest range - one called a flexidisc that is a flexible flap disc
