"I don't think anyone anticipated the breach of the levees" "I don't think anyone could envision flying airplanes into buildings" I don't think anyone can believe the US government anymore

Eh, at least Katrina cleaned out a whole bunch of the trash and the city is a nicer place because of it.

those who were poor, they could at least provide a way for them to get out.

Listen people I'm sorry for what they had to go through. Did they not warn people to get out before the hurricane come? that always happen few who decide not to leave. and when things go bad, they blame the gov.t for not doing their job. the warn you to get out. My prayers go to the people in new orleans even today hoping that everything will get better for them. God Bless

If bombs really went off and if this was all set up. Why though , what does the government get from doing this. I know 9/11 was an inside job but what do they get out of this?

I'd also like to point out that the only "shoot to kill" order was a "Shoot on Sight" for looters given by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff, not any mayor, governor, or president. Please stop using a tragedy that cost so many lives an untold amounts of emotional and psychological damage to further your "fight the man" view on the government of this country.

As a New Orleans native, and a common citizen of New Orleans at the time of Katrina, I need to say a few things. First off, the military presence was requested by the Mayor of New Orleans, who (if you'll remember) was black. Kinda hard to scream racism there. Next, I'd like to point out that Federal Regulations state that martial law can be called at any point in any disaster. As such, they don't *need* a riot or enemy. All they need is a disaster.
People don't understand that people from New Orleans are very different ... they hold very strong to their homes due to their deep-seeded belief that the gov't wants their land for gentrification purposes ... also, a lot of those ppl don't even have the means to get up and leave everytime a hurricane threatens their city
