Now this is the final time the Klingon theme that Goldsmith created would appear in the Next Generation films. It wouldn't be used for Nemesis, and it would barely be heard in this score for Insurrection. To be honest I wasn't even sure if I should even upload this song because of how brief the theme in played. It really makes a small appearance in this track and the entire score. It appears twice during the film and once on the commercial album. The bootleg that I have allows you the hear the theme twice but both times are very brief. Now this is off the commercial album and the theme makes it's presence known at the 2:25 mark and lasts until the 2:28 mark, and I'm not joking. I suppose there weren't to many moments for Worf to shine and it's understandable but it's a shame that it wasn't used more in the film. This theme appears in the film during scene when Worf destroys one of the Robotic drones with his gun and says to Picard "Definitely Feeling Aggressive Tendencies Sir!" and he says that because the planet they are on caused him to go through puberty again (must have been pleasant for Worf).

Now there are different bootlegs out there and one I have has the track "Through The Briar Patch" and the Klingon Theme appears at the 1:16 mark. Again it's nothing really special it's very similar to it's appearance on "The Drones Attack" but it's nice hearing the theme again even if it is brief.

I wasn't sure if I should even mention the theme in Insurrection because it barely makes an appearance but since it's actually in the score I thought I would upload it. Now don't make to many loud noises while hearing this track or else you might miss the theme however you wont miss any of the action music that's for sure.

  • The soundtrack for this movie sounds a lot like Rambo: First Blood, Part 2, which Goldsmith also scored. ST9 has never been my favorite film or score, partly because both have been recycled from previous efforts.

Goldsmith's work on ST:TMP is frakking awesome, though.

  • @MrWhipple42

It's more similar to Rambo III and The Vanishing.

  • Kinda sounds like something from Mass effect...

  • I stand corrected

  • You mean ENGRAMS. An anagram is a reordering of a word to make somethin' new out of it. Such as "a gran'ma" would be an anagram for "anagram."

  • Favorite quote from this movie: "Data: I seem to have lost several memory Anagrams"

Geordi Holds some iso chips out in his palm

    "Data: There they are"

  • The movie was great, and the music was just fantastic, the best part is that no other trek film has so awesome action music, that only goldsmith could deliver.

  • Totally agree. Too bad the rest of the movie sucked, or at least the plot did.

  • I have yet to own this soundtrack. I love the action motif . . . and it's too bad this was the last Goldsmith scored film with the Klingon Theme . . . and it only appears twice> and only for about 30 secs in total which is a shame. Good cue!! Your typical Goldsmith electronics . . . love it!
