Thing is nowadays, every time I hear someone say "fascist", I think of the tea party, and retarded pictures of Obama with a Hitler moustache. Sometimes I hate how words get raped.

Bush and Chaney should be in jail next to B. Madoff.

very interesting but i don't think the Bush administration was fascist.

Yes, Thom, you should have included a discussion of how the U.S. -- via the CIA -- ousted a democratically elected leader in Chile in 1973 (the other 9/11) and installed the fascist dictator Pinochet who did all of things to the Chileans that Franco did to the Spaniards; all of the torture, re-educations camps, executions ... all of it approved by the United States government.
America couldn't care less about democracy or human rights overseas, as long as a country is friendly to US business.

A great mix of history & poetry as to the metaphor of the present circumstances in which we find ourselves as one Nation.
Coming to grips with the realization ofFacist Corporatism and the Military Industrial War Complex & the profiteers of death & destruction.
Fascist Franco Spain was aided by the Nazi regime & the bombers were Facist terrorists bombing civilians by Hitler's war machine (Luftwaffe) practicing for the beginning of WWII in what History calls Blizkreig (Lighting Warfare)!

I had to favorite this so my Facebook friends could see this. You R right on the money and should be on prime time radio and TV. Outstanding commentary and thanks for the beautiful reading of Pablo Neruda.
There is no doubt that 9/11 wounded this country deeply. That wound was never allowed a chance to heal properly. Instead, it was encouraged to fester, and time has left it with a twisted appearance. Sometimes it is necessary to re- open a wound and treat it, lest the body die. Who will do this- the Senate? That body is broken, too. Layers upon layers.... and the teabaggers march with their guns on their hips.

Would that all talk radio hosts were this astute and erudite! This clip will educate viewers and even expose them to great poetry. Thom Hartmann speaks unflinchingly, bravely of the need for Americans to confront the recent debasement of their government under the Bush administration.
