there are many good turbine pilots, most all of them not timid. They work hard to afford their aircraft and have hundreds of trouble free turbine flights. Stuff happens from time to time, so what? It's about enjoying yourself, park flyers just don't do it for many of us.
@kalzx It doesn't matter how old you are, $10,000 for something that has a chance of self destructing just doesn't seem logical (to me at least) unless you're a pro. Personally, I'd rather buy 5 prop planes. You are certainly entitled to your own opinion though and if you want a jet and can afford it, go for it big man.
The plane is a Century Jet Models F-18E it is 108" long and it is a kit . It took Lewis 2 years to put this bird together and the kit alone is 5,000 dollars . before paint ,assembley ,servos ,engine or engines, pipes, wheels and brakes, and all the scale goodieslike lights and scale cockpit. Lewis told me that this plane had 18,000 dollars in it total value
@kalzx Really 10k isn't a lot?? Send some money my way! Turbines cost +$4,000 Each, other electronics approx $1000 and other supplies would be approx $1000. Of course, prices vary greatly from plane to plane and seeing as I can't afford one, I don't have first hand experience with exact pricing and details of jet aircraft, but from my other rc knowledge and a little reading that's my "guesstamate."
@toddcmueller I would say around $10,000 depending on what engines, electronics, etc he's using. And you can never forget the months of work that go into a project like this either!
