In Taiwan, on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month every year, we all celebrate the Moon Festival. Near this mid-autumn festival time, shaddock fruits (aka pomelo, pummelo) become ripe in Taiwan. They are not very sweet but delicious and contain a lot of vitamin C. Even the shell of this Shaddock's fruit is said to be good for the skin restoration.
Unlike grapefruits commonly found in US food markets, Taiwan pomelos are not sour at all - they are sweet and bigger when ripe.
In 2008, the Moon Festival Day falls on September 14 ( Sunday). Enjoy the coming of autumn time!
祝朋友們中秋佳節快樂!
