The Ohio Farmers Union helped organize a meeting put on by the Coalition for a Prosperous America on October 7, 2011. The meeting, dubbed the Dayton Economic Summit on the Future of Manufacturing, was open to public registration and attendees included Ohio business and labor leaders. As part of of a series of short talks and a panel discussion, Charles H. Blum, president, IAS Group and former Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Industry spoke about problems the U.S. deals with internationally due to the huge U.S. trade deficit and our tax structure as compared to other nations. Blum's talk includes context on the problems and potential solutions.
