Raw Food: Raw food information. In this episode, Jenna Norwood interviews Jaime Jones, date farmer and owner of The Date People. Did you know that dates are high in fiber, iron, potassium, calcium and minerals? They're good for balancing our pH because they are alkaline. They're sodium-free and fat-free. And soft dates tend to be low-glycemic. Go here for more information about dates. Go to this site (scroll down on the page) for images and information about 33 different varieties of dates. And here's a fantastic recipe for Fig Date Bars. Wonderful news for those of us with a sweet tooth!

  • jamie is legend! he grows those dates veganically on his farm. ive eaten em fresh. they are amazing! i do up to 2lbs a day when i can get em.

he also does a variety called 'peanut butter'. which itself is hardcore. fresh bahri's are my fav.

people that eat high fat diets or oils and heaps of nuts, dairy etc should stay clear of fruits cos all that fat your eating will give you candida if you eat sweet foods. so drop the fat and enjoy the sweet foods in life or keep eat'n fat and blow your bod!

  • I LOVE DATES!!!! I'm obsessed with Medjool dates but they're so expensive here... $7 for 12 oz. =( I can only eat 1-2 at a time because I'm trying to make them last haha

  • @zeb120 r u serious? wow

  • Dates are so good! They're like caramels with fiber. They are my new candy. Only thing is they can be an expensive habit. A 10 oz. can of Sunsweet California Pitted Dates cost about $3.75. There's not many in there, either.

  • @zeb120 lol i so agree! newho i get mine from dateland.com, my faves are medjool dates jumbo & or traditional.

  • im not gona buy form someone looking like him

  • where can i buy these dates???

  • I hate dried dates. It is an acquired taste. I shall have to try the fresh one to see how that would go over.
