Callas of course is the only one who truly knows what she saying and conveys it body, mind and soul. Brightman is ridiculous! Breath to intrusive and the I'm a balloon ready to take off posture is bizarre plus the blank expression all add up to boring. While cute Jackie is NOT an opera singer - she is a classically trained voice in the very early stages of her development and she'll be lucky if she's singing in 2 years! This was a good example of why Jakie is so well received. It's the effortless phrasing..The smoothness of her voice. The way she uses he mouth to get vibrato instead of her throat..It's a million little details that come from her naturally, that the other woman simply don't have. HOWEVER, that being said, I agree that Maria Callas gave the most professional and expressive performance over all. Still, Jackie pours out naturally, what took those woman years to develop, and that's amazing!

Callas, by far the best interpretation. its not just about being able to sing the notes but the feeling, emotion and interpretation is of elemental importance. Getting your audience to picture the scenes, sweeping them off their feet into Porta Rossa, it is Opera after all not bubblegum pop

What I appreciatte about Jackie is her ability to touch the average listener. She doesn't sing the usual overdramatic way most professional opera singers do. She isn't shrill, or sharp in her high notes or over-trained sounding. She sings from a real place inside. Professionals spend years training to convey such emotional expression in the arias. Jackie is real. Her voice leaves one with a spiritual makeover. If your soul is not touched...then you are lost to the darkness & I pity you.
