Some of the early Sesame Street cartoons were pretty edgy (not to mention funny and entertaining) compared to what you see on childrens' television today.

  • Is that Gary Owens? Sounds very much like Roger Ramjet....

  • @huzzahs4me Yes, it is Gary Owens.

  • You're darn right, Nanto. And something else I thought about today. Compare the cartoons on Sesame Street to those on today's shows. Nowadays, the voices are always ones you'd use to talk to a little kid in person. In other words, always excited sounding, eager to learn, and rather (if not extremely) bland. Back when you and I were growing up, on the other hand, voices in kids cartoons actually had bite. Jim Thurman, for instance, had a voice that would crack up adults as well as kids.

  • Thanks for posting Nanto! Hadn't seen this one in forever! Hilarious! "You've got the mind of a flea!" LOL. Whoever that smartass was he sure was asking for it! Hope he learned his lesson.

  • Nice to see this one again.

  • Many times I would think of this cartoon and the letter D both voiced by Gary Owens with the dog and the dinosaur! " If you dig a dinosaur drop your duck for a dime!' It is only later that I knew Gary Owens was both the voice of Space Ghost and was the announcer of Rowan and Martin's Laugh In! Thanks for the memories!

  • Thank you SOOO MUCH for posting this! I have been looking for this for years!! "Tell us all about it, bright boy!"

  • @MsPandaRosa hahahah I think the heckler was personally evicted.

  • @ladypeinforte

    Not for long!

  • The guy voicing the heckler sounds like he's having fun.

  • He gave him the business!

  • @Charla1606

That is one way to learn.

  • "Try not to be impolite, or I'll beat you senseless."LOL

  • @ShadesBelow03 The first time I saw this, I thought the man was going to drag the heckler onscreen so as to give us a visual aid for impolite.
