  • I enjoyed your video very much. It has thoughtful commentary and the guitar music is perfect. Do you paddle in any other wilderness areas?

  • @gunneykanu I grew up paddling in the Adirondacks, Algonquin, the Boundary Waters, and a few other places. Now, I'm pursuing whitewater canoeing, so my travels take me to a variety of wilderness locations.

  • Very nice job. It's inspiring to see you actually filming it. I take many pictures, but video is a whole new level of commitment, and solo to boot, Bravo. Planning a Bogs to the Osweg 4 dayer in July, you got me thinking about video now.

  • Thanks! I love the Bog River area, it's a great place to paddle. Video does add a new element, but you don't have to make it as hard as I have done. Just filming some of your favorite spots adds more life to what would have been a single moment captured by a photo.

  • You made me cry! Your soul is beautiful and I share many of the same childhood memories of loons- and the smell of the adirondacks is something I will never forget. Thanks for bringing me back there again.

  • Several years ago I paddled the St Regis River section from Ochre to Fish Pond. It's pretty rough with carries and beaver dams but not much worse than the portage to Fish pond.

  • Headed to little square pond myself this week, can't wait ! Hope to see a few loons myself. Great job on the filming, excellent footage!

  • Man, what a treasure. That's so great, nice! I totally understand what you mean.

You could always have both boats, though. Save your money, haha!

  • Haha yeah, but I wouldn't trade the boat in this film for the world. It's a Curtis Companion, the only fiberglass one that still exists I believe. Although it is outfitted as a tandem boat, it is a great solo boat, and is the most fun to paddle.

But 12-14 pounds is awful tempting.

  • WOW! That's crazy. You need a Hornbeck. They're like 12-14 pounds.
