After ignoring India's pleas to bring 26/11 suspects to book time and time again, Pakistan once again comes under scrutiny for having government links to terror.
According to The New York Times, Pakistani authorities have arrested five other people in connection with the new 26/11-type plot to target New Delhi, including former or current Pakistani military officials.
US officials say there is a direct link between terror duo David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Rana, and a former Pakistani military officer who was a co-conspirator in their plot.
The case is one of the first criminal cases in which US federal authorities have directly linked terrorism to a Pakistani military officer.
India has stated recently that it is aware that some arrests were made in Pakistan linked to the Denmark and India terror plot, on information given by the FBI. The Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has confirmed the Pakistan link, stating that Dave Headley has been proved to have visited Pakistan a number of times. TIMES NOW recently also accessed a copy of Headley's passport, which show Headley was granted visas to Pakistan as well as India on several occasions.
Officially Islamabad has not confirmed the arrest of any person in Pakistan who has direct links with either David Headley or Tahawwur Hussain Rana. Despite the news about the arrest of these two and the FBI chargesheet against them getting a prominent place in the US and Indian media, officials in Islamabad continue to remain silent on their detention and their alleged plan to attack Denmark and New Delhi.
But it remains to be seen how Pakistan will dodge the hard evidence.
