You could always try not filling it full. I have not, but I know people who have done that with similar styles of bottles.
I would recommend using a milk freezing tray. They make some that are ice cube style (to fit easily into even narrow bottle openings), which is also handy for getting out small portions when needed.
Some mothers need to store their breast milk in the freezer till needed (to give during school, work, illness). If they do not fill it to the shoulder will that work, otherwise a whole population is removed as customers
The water expands when frozen, so there is a risk of damaging the bottle. These have nice wide mouths on them, so if I need them to stay cold, I'll fill them with ice and then add water.

it says you can not freeze do you know if that is true and why?
