Tomb Raider Underworld - Tiger Combat - Headshot

Tiger combat from the PC demo of Tomb Raider Underworld.


To perform a headshot, the adrenalin bar must be full. When you have your weapon(s) drawn, this is the yellow silhouette of Lara at the top left of the screen, in between the health meter (the green silhouette) and ammunition meter. This can be filled up by shooting enemies continuously.

Once the adrenalin bar is full, wait for the enemy you are targeting (to draw weapons and target an enemy, hold the target lock button (the right mouse button by default on the PC)) to get close, then hold the grapple button ("Q" by default on the PC). You will enter a slow motion action, and you must not fire just yet.

A grey reticule will now appear on the enemy, and a red maker will also come up at any corner of the screen. Use the mouse to steer this red marker into the grey reticule. Once you have done this (the grey reticule will turn red), press the shoot button (left mouse button by default on the PC) to perform the headshot (a one shot kill) on the enemy.

TIP: Any enemies close to you may wait for you to finish the headshot. In the case of tigers at least, if you press the jump button (space by default on the PC) right after you exit the headshot, you should jump off the tiger's back unharmed. This can be seen around 12 seconds into this video.

Im so jealous,

you can actually play this well, seeing

from the way you handled those tigers.

me i run around shooting anything, then i realise my lock on isnt on, so it takes me 5 secs to turn that on

and then i fricken dieee :/

Don't worry; I had to do this several times to get it so I didn't take any damage at all :P

On another note, I can't believe I STILL haven't got this game. I've been playing through Anniversary again and it reminded me of this. Christmas is coming up though and it's probably really cheap now.

Headshot and adrenaline mode are my fave things in TR:Underworld.I mean,seriously.She can do all sorts of crazy things in zero time...It must be awesome to watch or do something like that in real life...

@TheTudiscoKid You are free to think what you like about the game (though for your information, it does include a dart gun so you do not have to kill the tigers), but be aware that I am in no way promoting animal cruelty because I understand entirely that this is a video game, and as such I would not necessarily repeat its actions in a real world scenario. I would also hope all viewers of this video share the capacity to understand this.
