Goodman (real name Frank Campbell) was a player on the Atlantic shard who made a name for himself by running the best rune library around. Years after his real life passing, people continue to gather every August commemorating his life and accomplishments at the Magincia beach where his original library once stood.
This event took place on August 30, 2010.
I haven't played the game since the Samurai stuff hit so I'm shocked to just now read that he passed away. Goodman helped out me and so many other Atlantic players in more ways than just providing us with convenient runes... I'm actually deeply saddened about this and I haven't played the game in years. I heard he ended up here in TX - would've been nice to have met him irl.

Goodman's exquisite library got me, and my friends, so many places over the years.
Those fond years, far off distant lands, that I had no idea how to get to.

It's really amazing to see how strong the community is in UO, more so it seems than even many places in the actual world.
It's disgusting to me though that someone actually went out of their way to make a character with his name and shout, "I"m alive" during the service. But I guess you just can't escape people like that wherever you go. The fact that none of you paid any attention to him speaks volumes about the community as a whole :).
I'm very much considering a return to the game.
