  • Jim Dewar was amazing, wasn't he? One of THE greatest soul singers ever. He was a huge part of the sound of the Robin Trower band. Robin of course is brilliant on the Stratocaster, and properly regarded as one of the greatest guitarists ever - but Jim Dewar, wow, a hugely underrated singer! RIP Jimmy.

  • When I first saw them in the summer of 1973 it was his voice as much as Trower's guitar sound that blew me away and started a life long love of their music.

  • Exactly right. He defined their sound every bit as much as Robin's brilliant guitar work.

  • I when I was lucky (persistent) enough to hang out with them in 1973, 1975, and 1977 Dewar, Robin and Bill Lordan (Reg Isadore wasn't in the dressing room area in 1973) where all as nice a guys as you'd ever want to meet.

  • Pas mal mais la meilleure version d'I Can't Wait Much Longer reste du live tiré du concert de Stockholm en 1975.

  • Getting ready to see Robin for the 14th time this sunday in San Antonio. I CANT WAIT MUCH LONGER

  • James Dewar was great in concert. Saw Trower as 3piece, than they added bass player, and Dewar just sang.

    Great singer!

  • So powerful.

  • Lisa Dewar would know what happened. I am sure she is right. James Dewar's health problems, sadly, are well known. Plus, it is inconceivable that Robin would not have wanted James. Robin isn't stupid; he knew that James's unique soulful singing was crucial to the band's sound.

  • Wow! Well done! You'll have that experience for the rest of your life. Meeting Robin and Jim would be a bit like meeting Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce - I can't pay any higher compliment than that.
