Mosney is a fantastic place where people who have nothing and have experienced things unimaginable to most of us, are recovering and being given an opportunity to make a new life. We should be proud that Ireland is so progressive to make this provision, it is the largest and probably the most efficient refugee camp in Europe, The people are content here! Pity the application process takes so long!
I have been volunteering at Mosney this summer, working with the refugee kids. It is a special place. Perhaps all of you can find comfort in the fact that people with a gruesome past, with wounded souls, are there recuperating. It is not so gloomy at all, like in this movie. It is still a cheery nice place.
I use to go der every summer for my holidays wen i was younger it was so much fun brilliant place, shame its shut down now cos even at 20 i wud still love 2 go bac
Who said I thought it was their fault or that all I am thinking of is going there for a holiday? At the time I was about 12, had friends there that I could only see there and it closed without warning, without a 2 year warning that had been promised. Money seems to make the world go round to some people and its sad, sure making no profit wasnt great but if he had passion for it I'm sure he could have got money elsewhere, if they were smart enough. How is a shabby place going to attract people?
This is just rubbish. Check your facts. The place was going bust - it's well documented. Try and find another special place. You obviously have no idea what it's like to be an asylum seeker. Maybe if soldiers came to your house in the middle of the night and shot your family in front of you, you might understand what people have to go through.
I'm sure you've been on plenty of holidays since 2000.

dont blame the asylum seekers.
blame the owner of mosney and the irish government for having created a situation to allow this to happen.
its such a terrible thing that mosney closed down.
its also a terrible thing that the assylum seekers cant work.
at the celtic tiger time, we needed workers anyway.
then everyone would have been happy!
