Pres. Mahmoud Abbas facing backlash over Goldstone Report Delay of Israeli War Crimes (Oct 5 09)

That was a terrible and selfish move on Mahmoud Abbas part. So many innocent palestinian lives lost and now a big blow to goldstone report of warcrimes committed by the israelis . Palestine need a strong leader, not this guy who gave into us/israeli pressure, he should resign.

Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, is facing a growing backlash over the postponement of a vote on a UN report that criticises Israel for the Gaza war.

The report by Richard Goldstone, a South African judge, blamed both the Israeli military and Palestinian fighters for war crimes during Israel's offensive on the Gaza Strip between December and January, but it was more critical of Israeli troops for "targeting and terrorising civilians".

Abbas has dismissed accusations that he bowed to US pressure to support the postponement, but that has done little to quell growing anger from all sectors of Palestinian society.

Al Jazeera's Nour Odeh reports on the protests from the West Bank city of Ramallah.

And more importantly, when can the poor defenseless Israeli victims get back to demolishing Palestinian homes, and olive tree fields, not to mention killing Palestinians without fear of retribution along the way? We Americans send billions of dollars to the poor Israeli victims each year to buy big guns; evidently it is not enough. We need to send even more billions because we need a strong IDF to go out and push the Palestinians into the water.
