I have used sifted play sand for all 6 of my dragons, its fine. If there are some things in your viv like rocks, plants etc that they can catcth the insects on its all good. Just make sure the whole thing isn't bare sand ...and they should pass most all of it. All are healthy. 2 have been sold..and are still healthy. Also they like to bury down into the sand at times *shrug*. Go for it. Calcium sand is kinda pointless since you will give them a supplement. Dont want them to OD on calcium lol.

The Pool was hand made by us they cost $45 and he was not shedding he just loves playing in the pool. We put it in about once a week for an hour and he plays like that every time LOL

Hey guys my beardie (Chicago) is 3 1/2 months old; could I use calcium sand or reptile sand as a substrate already because the crickets keep crawling under his carpet, making it very difficult for him to hunt them down.

I do not use any sand just in case of impaction I only use tile in all my vivs and it is easy to clean!

It can cause impaction I have read in several places that it turns into like a solid clump inside them and can not pass so i do not use it at all just to be safe. You can use Calcium powder on there food and it is safe.
