August 9, 1940. Giornale Italie No. 064. Italian Cant.Z 501 'Giabbiano' and three-engined Cant.Z 506 'Airone' seaplanes are readied for reconnaissance missions over the Mediterranean. The enemy is found, and a squadron of Savoia-Marchetti SM. 79 'Sparviero' bombers are sent against British naval craft.

  • What I mean (sorry, I miss to send the previous post I had written) is that the pilot shot at 2: 22 is my grandfather (now deceased) Maj. Gino Visentini-Scarzanella. It may be he action when they hit a submarine (I found something about it on his flight logbook). The airbase is Cagliari.

  • Timing is 2: 22, and not 2: 26. Sorry.
