Yo WriterAtHeart21: did you know that Suzy was a background singer on Patty's
first album in 1987? She is credited in the 'Special Thanks' section as 'Susan
Boggus'.

Thanks to the decline in talent in popular music in the 90's, I started listening to country music radio, hoping to hear music that connected with my cultural roots. I knew nothing of Suzy Bogguss. In the fall of '94, I heard this song for the first time while driving home. I had to pull off the road- shaken to the core. Who the hell was this? I was certain this was the greatest pure voice I had heard in 30 years of listening to all types of music. 17 years later, she remains unchallenged.

There is not ONE, repeat, NOT ONE of those air headed, blonde, skinny legged, chirpie sounding "hot new discoveries" that call themselves country that are toping the charts today could hold a candle to a voice like this. Nashville has just become a money pit and the music has gone to hell along with the record heads and producers. The "music business" is now more about the business than the music. Mr. Acuff and Mr. Atkins have just done a 360 in their graves, I'll bet!!

she's simply the best there is!

she's one of my favorites, along with Patty Loveless, both great in concert by the way. Their voices can stand alone without a lot of @#it in the background.

Her clear voice and that song... bring back memories...
Thank you!

I think Suzy Bogguss has the most underrated voice in female country music. LOVE her voice. Great song.
This song is so beautiful. I wish Suzy was still on the radio. I can't stand today's so-called country stations anymore. Give me Suzy and Patty please! :)

This song is simply great. :) I could listen to it over and over and not tire of hearing it. Another nifty Suzy tune not heard on the radio anymore 'cause the 'New Generation' of radio programmers are blockheads!
