Polish version of this American (and universal) standard has a special message, different than the overseas original.
Polish lyrics were written (1929) by Marian Hemar, a lyricist and a poet, for his beloved singing actress and wife - Maria Modzelewska, first performer of the song. Throughout the years it has been sung by various Polish singers and actresses, always in the full form: two verses and two (different) choruses.
This version is a confession of experienced woman being deeply in love with a young - "inexperienced" - man. In the first part she says to him that he may become a man of success in love and life and that he may go away to realize what is in store for him with someone else: ("Don't call me !..."). The second part of the song brings, however, a hesitation and feeling of care: his plans and his aspirations may fail, he may be betrayed, sick, and abandoned; and if it only happens he may return: ("Don't hesitate to call me when you are in need - I will warmly caress your had again...").
When listening to the interpretation of Wiera Gran one may have a feeling that she is presenting her own story; so suggestive she is in her acting. I regret only that not all listeners here may follow - due to the language barrier - the mastery of Miss Gran's rendition as well as wonderful diction and enunciation of this artist.
The song was recorded in 1960.
The record and visuals, most of them received directly from the Artist, belong to JP's, author of the video, collection.

A great artist and a great rendition. Here her voice recalls very much that of the Italian singer and actress Milly, born some ten years earlier than Wiera, who also sang wonderful pieces with the same emotional intensity, technique and vibrations in her late years, in the sixties and seventies. Several of them can be found in YT posted by edupa80.

Milly, MILLY - of course !
This is an artist that Miss Gran can
be compared - in many aspects of
her personality.
And vice versa.
Grazie !

Despite being unable to understand the lyrics this rendition is exquisite and deeply moving; thank you!

Indeed, the melody and timbre of her voice sufficed many a time to transfer the message
of the interpreted material.
Best greetings.
