"O Little Town of Boggy Creek" is a parody by Sam Stokes of "O Little Town of Bethlehem" . It tells the story of the Boggy Creek creature - a famous legendary monster from Arkansas. Visit my website at http://stokesmusic.tripod.com and please check out my other Christmas songs on YouTube - "O Christmas Tree (This Song has Many Versions," "Here We Come A-Wassailing (The American Edition)," and "Jolly Old St. Nicholas - Change Your Ways!" which was featured on the Dr. Demento Show in 2007.

Lyrics:

O Little Town of Boggy Creek
A place down in Arkansas
Your residents remind me of
the cast members of Hee Haw

Each morning when they wake up
The rooster crows at dawn
A broken tractor and old tires
are found on every lawn.

The people there like NASCAR and
cow tipping as you might guess
and these and other things are what
contribute to their success.

But in the swamp's a creature
that's ugly, vile, and mean.
The police sketch sure reminds me of
my weird hairy uncle Gene.

It's legend has inspired many
cheap tacky souvenirs
A couple books and movies
have been written throughout the years.

But mostly they have tanked
in the box office and how
The audiences just don't like seeing
it mutilate a cow.

O Little Town of Boggy Creek
Where did your creature go?
Well, maybe he's in Little Rock
I guess no one really knows.

He might try and run for governor
and cause a big uproar.
But heaven knows that Arkansas's
elected worse before.
