Imagine aliens came to Earth to use up our natural resources. We barely have enough to sustain ourselves much less an alien civilization. The aliens must have what we've got because the next planet isn't close enough and without using our resources they'll die. What if this results in the death and destruction of the human race? What if in that moment we faced extinction? The aliens aren't going to just stop because without it they face extinction. Sometimes war is the only way to stop a threat.

@gregjalbert While Avatar does have plenty of fighting , what is not well known because it happens before the time line of the film is the fact the Na'Vi "did" attempt plenty of dialogue with the humans they even had a school that was there to help teach them english this is greatly improved in the directors cut of the film as we get to see this , and jake asks "what happened here"? Cameron has taken constructive critisum about this and "will" make changes in future films.

@AlbinoTanuki I agree with the lady also especially reagrding real life situations. However to propose the worst scenario in a film wakes people up and makes them think before its to late (western peoples and corporations especially) . Most people do not appreciate what they have until it is gone so to create a destructive story allows for people to see the worst possible outcome so they can work that little bit harder to make less war in real life if that makes sense :)

@AlbinoTanuki Hey, I respect what you are getting at, but the lady is suggesting that there is no dialogue between the opposing sides in the film. Unfortunately, she missed the fact that Jake and Grace were attempting dialogue between the two sides, but the extremes of the opposing sides wouldn't listen. Despite attempts at dialogue, the worst-case-scenario situation comes to realization. It's a warning. It's also a movie, and it needed the fight to escalate the story: good guys win, end, yay.

Interesting how they don't translate the last three words that the last woman speaks. "despues de ese." Meaning, "after this." She is saying there needs to be "another message after this one." It makes a pretty big difference whether you say "there needs to be another message" or "another message after this one." She's actually asking for a sequel. Uh oh. :)

@AlbinoTanuki Well its a movie, and i doubt people, including myself, would pay to see dialogue.
I agree with the lady at the end; less war, more dialogue.
