UPDATE 10/26/11: I am in the process of making a second video to answer y'all's questions and to answer some demonstration requests. Unfortunately I am having trouble getting a good frame, so I will just have to keep trying. Hope I have something for you soon.

So I had several people request a video of my hair so they could get a better look at it. I don't think much of it since it's nowhere near as long as some of the awesome people here on youtube, but here is a vid of me working with it while watching a movie, before church (the long skirts are for Davidic Dance. It's more fun when you dress gracefully).

Out of all the people I know in real life only one has hair longer than mine and that's my best friend from high school. I was always trying to grow my hair out when I was a teen but Mum always kidnapped me and took me to get it "trimmed" (i.e. my hairdresser lopped off about 4 inches) so I never made progress. But then came those wonderful days of college when you get to play the adult without actually being one, and I've only had my hair trimmed once since 2008.

It's very thick and heavy and it grows about an inch a month so there's no point in me trying to style it anyway. I let it do what it wants and it grows healthy and happy. I was never complimented on it before, but now not a day goes by without someone saying something.

It's actually much easier, and aside from using lots of conditioner, a lot cheaper to let it grow. No hair appointments, no dying, frying or excessive maintenance. A cool hair dryer when it's almost dry just to smooth it down, tie it back in a braid down my back, and I look as professional as anyone else.

Will I donate it? Maybe eventually. I want to see how long I can get it to grow for one thing, and I also want to be sure my hair will be USED if I donate it because if no, there's no point in cutting it off.

I do need to trim it a bit though. The past 3 months of exceptional drought and record breaking heat took a toll on my hair and skin despite my efforts. I'm so glad it's fall again, my favorite season.

i'm french: don't cut it ! it's so beautiful and gracefully... if you loose your hair, "never never" returns...NEVER long hair in long long time, so don't cut it !!!
