Have you try installing windows? Just to see if it's a hardware or OSX problem.

i think this can easily be fixed with software update. doesn't seem like a hardware problem. you should get a replacement neway. surprising though, there are quite a number of people experiencing the same issue. not apple starndard....

thats a bad graphics card.. gpu or ram on the gcard seems to be failing. I'd be taking it back and getting another one.

mines doing the same thing whilst watching this video and i cant decide whether or not the video im watching is fickering or if its my actual monitor. come to think of it its both

@DjTironci my recommendation wait and see if it does it again if it does try re applying that update or take it to apple but wait a bit and see if it happens again

exactly, im preety sure they do, when you answer your costumer with a ton like BRING IT BACK that explains it all, im preety sure they do know about it, they just act like they don't, i hope it doesnt flicker on me, whats ur suggestion wait for a bit? or should i go exchange it right away

@DjTironci wtf apple didnt know about a flickering screen on an imac that has been having issues WOW
go to the Apple download webpage...there is an update for the ATI videocard firmware...it will solve the flickr problem

I just bought my 27' imac and its doing this to plus i have a dead pixel. What did the apple store do about this cause im taking mine back?

I brought a copy of this video since I could never really reproduce it on demand... they were pretty understanding once seeing the video but didn't admit this problem was widespread.

so just to let everyone know, I took this back right after I started experiencing the problem. it's been about 4 weeks and the new one looks fine with no issues.

This is what happens to early adapters, in the Mac or PC world. Box it back up, take it back, demand a full refund, then wait till they settle this out and there is a totally new hardware run in place. Pretty simple solution. And next time, jeezuz, WAIT a month or two. Don't be a lemming.
