Not all americans are fat lazy pigs you know.....if that were the case then there would never be a protest or a arrest of an outspoken person or homeschooling or anything that challenges the government. Its just that the clones get the media space...all you have to do is turn on your now converter box attached TV to see that. There is nothing but garbage and I don't even watch tv anymore. I love my country but I'm not too happy that it is being used as a toilet .

I don't know what this is about or who this is to, but I'm American, and thank you for saying that.

Being American makes me want to puke. Everyone is so cocky about it. They act like we have it bad. My father died in the war and it's fucking pathetic.

We all need to get over ourselves.

@beefheartjoe, Right, I'm not suggesting they're completely unknown or totally obscure, but the majority of listeners here don't know who they are, even those who truly enjoy music. Compare the popularity of Low to some of the other acts on the 89.3 channel: Tori Amos, BRMC, Clinic, Klaxons, etc. Even Sparklehorse and the Go! Team have received more mainstream attention than Low. As such, I don't fault people for not knowing who they are and am glad they're welcoming Low to their palettes.

This song is the prayer of an abortion clinic bomber or Muslim fanatic prior to committing to some terrible act.

I'm not sure I know any song touching on this subject like this. Brilliant and chilling.

I love both this stripped down live version as well as the studio version.

He (the speaker in the song, that is) is praying to his god and wants to be used to kill in the name of his god ("It seems that you could use another fool"). It could be any religious fanatic who kills in the name of "god." I doubt Alan Sparhawk had any one particular religious fanatic, but examples abound...
