Nice atmosphere at Kyoto's Budo Center — next to the BUTOKUDEN (武徳殿) — for 2011's 107th KENDO ENBU TAIKAI — 02.05 - 05.05.2011. Enjoy!

  • Yes, no markings, because this is / was just a warm-up/free Keiko meeting point — right next to the Butokuden, where the Taikai proper takes place. Apparently anyone who shows up with his/her bogu is allowed to practice there, but as far as I know only those participating in the Taikai are supposed to show up there. Thanks for your comment and interest.

  • @KELLERMANisBACK We have training spares with no match markings, I believe this is what I would call free training.

  • In Germany, wie dream for such as many 7th dan kendoka!

  • One question: Why are there no match markings on the ground? Is it just a place to train or do they do sparring matches with regulation spaces?
