So I was minding my own business in the privacy of my own home when I heard a knock at the door and, lo and behold, who might it be?
An installer for Wellington Energy, Inc., that's who.
(Wellington is the Pennsylvania-based subcontractor hired by PG&E to install "smart meters" on homes and businesses in San Luis Obispo County and beyond — to the tune of 2.2 billion-with-a-b dollars, which means that they are: capital-S-Serious.)
I have a "No Trespassing" sign prominently displayed on the front of my house so, instead of answering the door, I rushed off to find my video camera (I am an activist, after all, and am highly concerned about the ever-increasing lack of privacy here in America).
By the time I found my camera, the installer (named Kenneth, I would later learn) had already gone around back to install the smart meter on my house. (Doesn't anyone ask permission any more?)
When I opened the door....

Having agreed to do so when you applied for power, you must allow the power company access to their equipment (meter, wires, etc.). You should move your service connection and meter to a location where servicing or reading it does not result in "trespassing".

What was the point in this video? Clearly he wasn't chased off the property. He was leaving anyways. And he wasn't going to install the meter so what the fuck is the problem?
