Haha dude, you really oughta drive a four banger in a wrangler. I own one and its just fine for what I use it for. They are light and have great torque for trails.

@lchsgolfer Right the difference is made by the driving and the momentum. V6 are great, but serious Gas Guzzler in Jeep wich I can't afford. I had choice to do... keep a V6 on the Road or get I4 and go offroad :-) I own a Liberty 2.4 Manual trans and I love it. 1.5 foot of fresh snow, heavy mud etc. Bring it on. No need for a V6 for the occasionnal offroad, even if it's serious stuff. Just press harder on the pedal :-)

@TheUKTP i enjoy my 4 cyl for the smooth power its not choppy cuz of over horse power its a nice gradual pull but enough torq and power to get you any where perfect combination if ya ask me

I have this jeep. 2006 SE silver, with an AEM intake, Jet stage 1 chip, cherry bomb muffler, 2.5 inch exhaust pipe for a 4.0, Screaming Demon coil, Live wires and a TB spacer. The Neon guys figured out their 2.0 can be made into a 2.4, so google neon 2.4 and read. They know how to mod this engine. Also with the 2.4 jeep, lighten is up as much as you can. I run without a back seat and no extra weight, with aluminum 16 lbs 15x7's with 235 duratracs.

@TheUKTP
It depends an what you want to do with it. The 2.5l is a bit weak, 2.4l is better. Regearing is necessary with bigger tires.
The 2.4 has enough power for most off-road situations, but it doesn't come close to the power of a 4l I6.
