Everyone who says hardcore is not as good now just do not have the knowledge of the scene going on today, its not their fault, they're probably old and have sold out, or are young and think hardcore is metal because of the media. It doesn't matter what year the band is from, its the message that counts. How can you be a real punk and not go to shows and support the the local DIY scene?

I don't think SSD was the greatest hardcore band of the early 80's, but this song, without a doubt is one of the best hardcore songs ever. Don't get me wrong though, Their first two lp's still blow me away. Forced Down is another great song. Also, probably the greatest LP cover ever and we will never see another album cover as good. That cover should be in a museum or something.

Growing up on route one Saugus I used to see a rock painted with SSD on it. Years later, it was painted over to say GAGE. Now it says moleman or something which I have no clue about. That Rock was kind of a cool piece of history if you think about it. But I always wondered, if SSD had anything to do with the DRUG FREE JAIME rock at the end of farm street water st intersection in Wakefield. BTW, you are the man Al, total bad ass on stage in this video!

Molemen are a hip hop crew from Boston. they are pretty good too. I may be a tad bit biased as I'm from N.Y.C. but Boston, if you care, has a very up n coming hip hop scene. I should Mass really cuz some cats, like this dude Termanology, comes from Lawrence. I am reading SCHISM, the book that compiles every issue of the classic NY zine. Brings back a ton of memories!

As someone who is a little older than a lot of the "hardcore" (I use that term lightly nowdays) fans, and as someone who saw some of the better second wave hardcore bands live (before everyone sold out and went hair metal. hahahaha) I must agree that though hardcore may still be going, it's definitely not the same. It's got a new name..... POP.
