100% right. the problem is AIPEC influence on congress (politicians never met a lobby dollar they didn't like) and media propaganda that equates israel's "security" with our own national interests in the public mind. i never believe media polls that show average "americans" supporting israel no matter how many times it's repeated.

On top of all of that, we are sacrificing the American economy to do it and putting a terrible burden on our kids to pay for our blind, neo-con, imperialist policies.

You have to put that in perspective of the tiny amount of the US's population that is comprised of Jewish people.... Both of my older brothers are U.S. Marines and we are an orthodox jewish republican family from nyc, so don't stereotype or quote numbers out of their proper perspective/ratio.

Apparently the percentage of Jews in the military 7 tenths of 1 percent. I don't understand why we are willing to put our national security at risk for Israel.

Thank you Jim Webb, rationality is definitely something that is missing from an endless war that has tanked our economy, and taken waaaay more lives than we can bear.

Fact is, we didnt control the borders of Iraq, so as soon as we got in, they fled in every direction, and now we have no hope of capturing them.
If we had controlled the countries around them, not by invasion, threat or force, but by diplomatic communication, saying that the threat of Al Qaida cannot be allowed to spread. But even at that, we should be there, not still and not ever.

Good point. Have you noticed how many so called neocons are Jewish. I hate to sound anti-semitic, but it's so blatant- Doug Feith, Wolfowitz, Perle, Podhoretz, Kristol, & columnist Charles Krauthammer,(not a complete list). We give Israel a blank check, & the Arab world hates us. I always thought as De Gaulle said, ' Countries don't have friends, they have interests'. The sole fact that Israel is a 'democracy' (does that include W.Bank settlements?), is hardly enough to support our policies.
