林黛的歌聲已經很不錯了，呼吸也得宜。往後的歌舞片改用其他歌手­代唱，需然更動聽，但卻無形中貶低了天后。

The songs of Lin Dai tear me away from the present and drop me right into my childhood when I used to sit enthralled by the images and sounds from the silver screen (although the images were in plain black and white). 林黛加盟電懋後的第一部獲亞洲最佳女主角的影片。雷震是男主角，­林黛則在片中分飾雷震封建時代的賢淑太太和茶樓歌女。結果以悲劇­告終。這部片林黛的演技又比她在邵氏時的古裝片貂蟬與江山美人稍­勝一籌。只可惜裏面的歌曲不是像她在翠翠、金鳳、歡樂年年、吃耳­光的人等片親自為之。

其實林黛的唱功很不錯~這種地方民歌有難度! 林黛外型美艷如洋娃娃~但是扮相卻宜古宜今_非常難得~紅透半邊­天是有原因的!
