With all the due respect: the way to make classical music popular for an average listener is educating their taste, making them more sensitive and trying to encourage them to go to great concerts and enjoy the real taste of great pieces, but NOT DESTROYING THE MASTERPIECES AND VULGARIZING THEM, FOR HEAVEN´S SAKE!!!!!

@lindberg555 I accept your opinion, but there is no need to openly insult peoples tastes or choices. I hate hip-hop, its a total abomination in my opinion, but I ACCEPT other people like hip-hop and I don't feel the need to belittle them for their taste. Personally I like both older classical, and Maksim's modern take of classical, who's to say if Mozart, Chopin or any of the other greats wouldn't do just the same with the music and facilities of the modern era? Maksim has plenty of unaltered classical peices, played in their cliche manner. However it is 2011!!!! After 300 years of playing the same peice in the same way there is nothing wrong with updating and making it your own! Thats the most amazing part of classical music, its vast amount of possibilities for interpretation. Some people I beleive don't truly understand what expression is. Like it or no, we all have our opinions and tastes. Don't spit on it though!

I like the pedaling. It's well done. I like how his fingers fly up and down the keyboard. I'm hardly paying attention to the orchestration. It looks like he loves doing this, and I admire someone with passion. Life will soon enough come with it's crushing weight. Just enjoy.

@lindberg555 Your a close-minded biggot. Maksim is one of the greatist Pianists of OUR time. He takes classical pieces and spices them up for the younger generation, so when they listen to something most reguard as classical, they actually enjoy it. If it wasn't for Maksim, the classical genre would be dead except for the few narrow minded snobs like you. I love Maksim's versions, but I also love the classic originals too. Grab your cane, twirl your moustache and adjust your monocle, you fool.
