  • Sir, I really thank you for posting this power training method for Baguazhang. I've been constantly practicing in a flow-like movement, & was afraid to incorporate the power methods from my karate background, just like the power methods you've shown simply because, I might end up practicing it in the wrong way. I'm now going to do the power methods from now on =3. Thank you =D!

  • Thank you for your insights sifu. Masters like yourself and sifu Rudy Curry Jr. are godsends for bagua students like myself. Peace and much respect.

  • the staff method look veri similar like goju ryo karate conditioning

    watch?v=TE6wdyzk0lE&feature=related

and i see something similar with hevy hamers but for aerobics i think

  • @Maoshan, you could be the best fighter in the world but if your not in condition at the moment you need it, you may not resemble anything close to what you should at that time. in the end, I've been fighting all my life, in situations where it counted. Real life Survival! This wasn't my first fight. I never learned Martial arts for a hobby or sports. The Ring is a specialty again that must be trained for.

Your not taking into account what I did. I tried to squeeze 3-6 months of training into 3 days. My body wouldn't do what I wanted it to do. It was a matter of too much, too fast and I'm paying for it now. I didn't get hurt at all in the fight, another testimony to my general training, but those 3 days were pure murder. You can't wake up today and say:I'll run 5 miles if you haven't been running 5 miles already.

The same goes for a boxer or any other physical activity.

  • @Maoshan I see where your coming from, and i understand your age is a factor. But is that really how a sifu throws a punch or kick? The fluency you have in your training should atleast prevail a little in the ring regardless. If it dont work for the teachers how can it work for the students?

  • @Maoshan

There's a big difference between sports and survival.

  • @Tru2DaStreets0718

Untrue! My students are a testimony to that. The deal is, at my age I needed more. Besides, these training methods have been around for thousands of years, tried and tested. The ring is a specialty all unto itself. You don't need endurance to break a neck or take an eye out.

  • In all honesty, slapping up a tree, bashing yourself into tree, shaking a big stick, twirling your arms like a ballerina, walking around with rings on your hand looking like chef boy r d, and stomping on the floor like an angered baby handing a bowl of vegetables back to mommy were ineffective training methods.

  • Excellent Training methods brutha!

  • Cool video and great soundtrack.

  • @BLACKNINJA1

Thanks man. The last song comes from an old mix tape. O can't tell you who it is but it works for my training.

  • The training was great I like those staff wrist training exercies I'm a guru in Eskrima I like those exercises and the music is slamming who was the last artist and song.

  • @LAMBYAH

    Chuky Booker.

  • @CraneStorm

    Thanks man. I try.

    Peace

  • Peace. I like your methods, but fam who sings the song you got as your background music? That was my joint.

  • 'You are a great teacher.'
