@frbjoernLA It's sad when someone can hear a first hand account of a situation, and just cast it aside. Swaggart has done a great job of keeping himself down through the false doctrine he teaches. I'm sorry you can't see that.

@eflint1 Actually, you are contending against him, just read your comments, although it may not be your intention to do so. Personally I never really appreciated Rev. Swaggart other than his Gospel singing, becouse of his frequent attacks on the Catholic Church, even though many of his attacks were heartbreakingly true. Surely, he was and still is one of the Lord's anointed and he has been instramnental in the Gospel. Surely it is not our job to drag him down and to try keep him down!

@frbjoernLA Father, I don't contend against him because he failed. We all have. I contend against him because he confessed in PUBLIC, but then told associates in secret, "I never sinned". Do you agree with his doctrine"Me flesh sinned but my spirit didn't"? This is not gossip, this is FACT. I worked there during this whole mess. We ALL forgave him for his sin. We all "considered ourselves lest we be tempted". That NEVER was the issue. You make straw man arguments.

@eflint1 By the way! I do not want to contend with you it you are a truly regenerate Christian but I will defend Rev. Swaggart as a regenerate Christian. You have accused him of "pure arrogance", "herecy" and by implication, insincerity. Rev. Swaggart does not appreciate me at all. I am an Old Catholic Priest. I am often recklessly accused of being a child molester by nominal Protestant Christians. How can the Body of Christ be united while this type of sinful slander continues?

@eflint1 You really seem to have it in for Rev Swaggart, Your reaction to him and his ministry seems to be unforgiving in a manner uncharactoristic of a Christian. St. Peter at the end of 3 years of ministry with our Lord Jesus, in a moment of weakness denied Him and claimed he didn't know Him. Peter repented, Rev. Swaggert repented Like St. Peter, Rev Swaggert wants to continue to serve our Lord Jesus. You don't seem to want him to. 1 John 1:9 still applies thank God!

The faculty and staff of the College signed a letter saying that they would all get side jobs and work at JSM for FREE until his rehabilitation was over, IF he would submit to the AoG discipline. He thummed his nose at the offer saying, "Some of you might leave, but the BEST ones will stay." Pure ARROGANCE. I know it upsets some when I tell the truth about their favorite 'rock star", but the truth must be told.
