  • Thank you so much for this. We are at a very basic level yet but seeing this we can see how beautiful and expressive the final dance can become. Could watch it all day.......

  • @slam5 my bad. i mean cannot have straight knees and hip motion at the same. Look at the steps in hockey stick (especially the step before the lady turn), there definitely have to have bend and straighten of the knees.

  • @vchickaroo16 I think it is more of a chicken and egg type of thing. when you have hip motion (aka: latin hip), you knee will straighten and bend too. you can have straight knees and have hip motion at the same time. the time they spend on straighten and bend their knees is very small, hence their hip motion is very fast.

  • Just wonderful

  • i cried every time francos and oxana's rumba. it's so sensible...... and music every time is great.. i can't say with words whats going on with me when i see them dancing rumbaa.. perfect

  • @slam5 the shoulders are just a reaction to the ribs activating to coordinate the hips pathway of movement. The knees don't have a lot to do with hip action

  • great rumba song!!! great dancing!! bravo!!!!!

  • @frewerage Na, their hips and shoulders moving is NOT excessive at their level. your teacher may had told you not to think of hip movement is because of most beginner try generate hip movement by "throwing" out to left and right. their hip action is generate by knee action and separation of their rib cage and their hip.

  • @frewerage Yes, I know what you mean, I am just at the beginning and my teacher is always at me to keep my shoulders level. I think that this is kind of like a free style where you are allowed to interpret the moves with your own flavour. But this wouldn't hold up in competition.
