This was filmed Saturday June 6, 2009 at the Fleetwood Country Cruize in London, Ontario Canada

First off this car was formally owned by the famous Canadian actor comedian Dan Aykroyd, as you can see they even have a Blues Brothers decal on the rear! and it clearly reads "The Aykroyd Car"

you can find more info on this exact car by following the link below,

http://www.amphicar.ca/amphackroyd.html

This same car can also be found on another video on Youtube on my good friend Jack's channel which is Raconter1, he lives down in Florida! i guess this Amphicar gets around! also this car now appears to have 2 sets of plates, in my video it has vintage '65 Ontario plates that read 61-811, vs. Jack's video that has a modern Historic Ontario plate that reads 1H2776, also the restoration process shows the '65 plates??? maybe they put the modern Ontario plates on when crossing the border into the U.S??? or maybe now they have permission to use them, as i think there is a process to wait for Ontario to accept the vintage plates you have, as you can register older plates, as long as they match the year of vehicle, thus Jacks video was filmed back in April of 2008

This exact Amphicar appears multiple times on Flicker, (just search Fleetwood Country Cruize) i found a good picture of it in motion, the photographer must have been standing right beside me, you can get a clear view of the plate and the Blues Brothers decal that appears on the same car in Jacks video,

here is the video he has of the exact same car! it sure does get around! even on the internet! i guess some of its previous owners fame has rubbed off on it!

very nice car, i do love these Amphicars as they are very interesting, a boat and a car! how handy is that! now my take on this exact Amphicar is just utter shock, i remember seeing this car on Jack's channel, and then i saw this car, then i remembered the Blues Brothers decal on the rear, and i said to my self, hey this is the same car! and sure enough it is!, and funny thing is i almost missed this car in action! i had to be quick with the camera! it ain't a long video, but i got the shot! and this is 2 cars so far that i have filmed that Jack has too! the other is a 1954 Ford Rideau as it was called in Canada vs. Crestline in the U.S. also the Canadian Fords kept the Flathead V8 till 1955, vs. the U.S. which went to the OHV V8 in 1954, you can find my 1954 Ford video on my channel, and its a video response to Jacks video of the exact same car,

  • Hey, Brent! Thanks for posting as a response!

It was great to learn the history of the car, and see it in the water! That stream doesn't look too deep..but evidently it had enough depth for Amphicar! :D Jack

  • no problem! its fun being a car detective! i thought that Blues Brothers decal and the "The Aykroyd Car" saying had something to do with the car's history, and i guess it does! :) and i guess this car gets around not only in the real world, but on the internet as well, and thanks for the comment Jack

  • Cool...probably the best car around to outrun the cops lol

  • lol lol that is true! also Castro is lucky these cars never took off in Cuba! lol lol the Cuban citizens trying to escape and seek refuge in the U.S. would not have to convert old cars to boats! lol if i could get one of these Amphicars i would try my best to improve performance, and then i would have my self a handy dandy fish boat! and i would never have to unload or load a boat on a dam trailer! lol lol just make sure no one opens a door! but there is two locks inside to stop that mistake

  • Too bad they don't make any amplicars anymore.

  • well they kinda do, if you go look up Amphibious cars, you will find a few modern examples, but nothing beats the classic look of these Amphicars! and thanks for the comment!

  • I bought this Car from the Aykroyd Family and resored it around 2005.The father said he was selling it for his Son. It was not till I was on my way home and talking to my buddy that we realized I had Bought Dans Car! I have a decal on the back with the Blues Brothers on Stage.

  • Does anyone remember the episode of candid camera where this woman pulls up by the river and ask where some city is? Others pointed across the river and said over there. Of course there was no bridge and she says thanks then puts the car in gear and drives into the water. Candid Camera was a great show in the 60's when I was a kid.

  • When yheir coming for you by the lake and you know you must somehow escape~~~WHO YOU GONNA CALL?~~~
