I hope they send him to a United States Prison as I feel that canada does not have a quality justice system. the punishments for criminals are insane. that it makes me feel that I could commit a crime, and not worry about being punished for too long. the conditions in a canadian prison are worse then the sentence. the united states it strict on it's criminals. and I feel that the United States is superior to canada in respect to criminal justice.

He should be released.

So you need a law degree to have an opinion?
You practice criminal law? Care to cite some credentials? I find it hard to believe a criminal lawyer has time to spend arguing over terminology on youtube.

If the courts are to accept going the "I have a mental illness, I`m not responsible" excuse, they why do they send pedophiles to jail?? Isn`t pedophilia classified as a mental illness?
What if a guy rapes a 1 year old baby to death? Should we let him go free because of his "mental illness"??
Psychiatry doesn`t make any sense in a court of law, in fact, it doesn`t make any sense anywhere.

His lawyers went as far as claiming his dead parents estate for him. Lawyers are nothing but vultures, they would gladly sell their own parents if they could profit from it.
The name of the guy is "Alain Piche" in Trois-Rivieres, QC .

what? you just implied that people don't get mentally ill in Canada who is embarrassing them self in a sea of denial?

It only takes common sense to see that he was planning this murder, I draw your attention to the bowie knife he took on the bus, that's not an EDC blade! As for criminally responsible my only concern is that he gets out after being "rehabilitated" and kills again. I really don't care if you're insane you don't kill people, that's a given. You may notice from the video that it was a immediate reaction, not some deeply researched response.
Idiot
Clearly you don't understand anything about the Canadian legal system. Do you even understand the difference between first and second degree homicide? "Murder 1" is a US term. Jesus - get some education.

@airykahca Is the content refutable? Is law not about about intent and content before presumptions?
