are u suppose to use ur lefthand if ur righthanded?

@DutchMagicBoy Use which ever hand you want. "Most" right handed Magicians use their left hand to make the cut & here is why. It's easier to catch the card with the right hand. But more importantly, the deck is usually in the left hand hand when other sleights are used so it looks more natural if you can leave it in the left hand to begin with, otherwise you'll have to transfer the deck from ine hand to the other before & after the cut. It's in your best interest learn to do the cut left handed.

@DutchMagicBoy Learning the cut left handed feels ackward & will take a little longer to practice. But give it a serious try, the pay off is much greater. But if after serious effort you decide to use your right hand it's ok, the world won't end. Again, though there are a few really good magicians that do this cut with the right hand, know that the VAST majority chose to go through the ackward learning of the left hand & there are reasons for that. But in the end, it doesn't matter.

Just wanted to say thank you for posting this tutorial! I've been trying the original hot shot method and you're is much better for those of us "with small hands." The grip is definitely a booster for a female magician working with a full poker-sized deck. Much appreciated!

I use Paul ancil's method.... Uhh I dont know if he invented it or not. But partially because of the complicated finger positioning and the fact that theirs several methods to completing this cut.. Its way too hard for me to look at your hand and then transposition the oposite to my hands. Mabey if you showed us from our view, instead of opposite?

i have trouble pushing the card out also because of the strong friction(i think)

i have an old deck and the cards just stick together. I couldn't easily get the card kinda rotate out of the packet, but instaed i've got the whole packet kinda spread out as in thumb fan, what can i do?
