  • thanks for the tutorial Rick. With the red eye setting, would you suggest I have it automatically set to be on or leave it off?

  • @gasolina02 the flash will pre flash to reduce red eye (makes eyes iris close), it all depends if red eye is a problem, i dont use it as i use off camera flash, which eliminates red eye. Rick

  • Does the steady shot in my 500D work only when i use the flash even that i don't need it ?

  • @shity8 The 500D does not have steady shot, its the lens that have Image Stabilization (not all do) Steady shot is Sonys technology. The flash has nothing to do with this, but flash will freeze action or movement in a shot under certain shooting situations/settings. Rick

  • nice tutorial.. still confused between nikon 3100 and this one.. which one is best in all aspects ? enlighten me..

  • @naayefbd I have never used the Nikon 3100 or any other nikon. Best thing to do would be go try them both to see what suites you better. Also consider budget, ergonomics, and if friends shoot the same brand camera (not the most important) as you will be able to trade lens. Rick

  • @rickjbradbury thanks Rick! My daughters are just babies and the flash or pre flash seems to bother their eyes quite a bit and I want to reduce as much irritation to my subjects as possible lol. Thanks again for your tutorials. I'm finding them very helpful and easy to understand. :)
