I'm not sure about the 'look to the present" thing, but squidb8 has a point. Scooter was tried, convicted, and sentenced. It's not like he simply got off scott free. Bush's commutation of his sentence is probably worthy of a little bitterness, as is Cheney's call for full pardon, but it's not surprising considering their character and not worth dwelling on for long.

But you miss the gist of what I'm saying. If I were to become incensed ever person not punished for some crime or wrong doing I would have to be angry and bitter every waking day. The rich and powerful do shifty things that we the people have to just sit and take it because we do not have the resources to make things right.
As for dead Iraqi and Katrina babies, it is unfortunate but incompetence is not a crime.
