Lyrics & Information

A splendid live version of Kings Vengeance. Very good quality recording considering its audience taped. Enjoy!

Lyrics :-

[Intro by Phil]

Down and out in the city
Won't you give a boy a break
Juvenile on trial before commitee
Taken all he can take

King wants his vengeance
Specially on the poor
Some say preaching to convert him
Me I'm not so sure

Spring come and
Spring tease
Bring summer winds and summer breeze
Blowing through your hair till autumn leaves
When autumn leaves winter freeze

[Solo]

And the child is still breathing
With the beating of his heart
Some say we are equal
Some a million miles apart

[Second solo]

And the King want's his vengeance
Specially on the down and out
King wants his vengeance
We got something to shout about

Spring come and spring tease
Bring summer, summer breeze
Blowing through your hair, autumn leaves
Autumn leaves winter freeze

  • Despite following Lizzy since the 70's I never heard this live. Thanks for posting this. Saw the Inverness gig on Saturday-just fabulous-lots of memories. This is probably my favourite Lizzy track-the 'Fighting' Album was much underrated. I still have a well worn cassette tape of it-did I really confess to that????

  • just like phil im also a dub. love you man

  • Fighting is a Very underrated album. Scot Gorham As his MXR P90 really defined his sound in the 70s

  • My favorite song by this band.

  • Class ....

  • Thanks

  • course those are phil's lyrics...brilliant song, brilliant band.
