Boker Knives Factory Tour - Solingen, Germany

In 2007 Ernst Felix picked me up at my hotel in Solingen and we sped off to the Boker factory.

He was leaving that afternoon for vacation and the tour was fast and furious with no set up time. I had to shoot on the go and try to keep up with him. As much of a challenge the shooting wasI think this made the footage more dynamic than it would have been with a lot of set up time.

any idea where the chesnut tree still there? or what happens to the original tree taht mr boker used as simbol?

Yes. The tree no longer exists. I believe that it was struck by lightning. But some of the wood remained. I have a picture of herald with a piece of the wood made into a Boker tree carving. I don't think any of the wood exists beyond that.

That was a very interesting factory tour. And it was good (goot?) that the CEO could speak such good English because he made it easy to understand. I think I will now investigate Boker knives further.

i use their knives to kill people, i have to say, after all my years of cutting and stabbing, boker is the only knife i keep by my side.

Boker make some really great knives, would love to see this factory and pickup a few more models
