Improvisations on Persian-tuned piano performed by Ramin Zoufonoun, Sept 2000, San Diego, California. Modes: Bayat Turk, Zarb-e Osool (Shur), beginning of oshaq.
Awsome work! I love that beautifully haunting sound of a Persian tuned piano.....wish more players would play in these scales. Contrary to what many believe, Piano can sound as delicate as Santoor and as powerful as Tar and as charming as Setar when played in this fashion. For one thing, it has the widest range of any instrument!
Great great job Ustad Zolfonoun!! I assume you must have some relations to the older master Zolfonoun.
still amazing...
