MASHANTUCKET, CT -- The 2010 Fighter of the Year, world middleweight champion Sergio "Maraville" Martinez, destroyed previously undefeated Sergiy "Razor" Dzinziruk en route to an impressive win by eighth-round technical knockout to capture the World Boxing Council ("WBC") Diamond Belt and retain his Ring Magazine belt, live on HBO World Championship Boxing at MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods.
Martinez (47-2-2, 25 KOs) outclassed Dzinziruk (37-1, 23 KOs) from start to finish, using his superior hand and foot speed, as well as his power against the reigning World Boxing Organization ("WBO") junior middleweight champion. Martinez lived up to his nickname ("Maravilla" means "Marvelous" in English), dropping Dzinziruk in the fourth, fifth and three times in the final round.
"Diamond Elite: Martinez vs. Dzinziruk" was presented by DiBella Entertainment in association with Gary Shaw Productions and Banner Promotions. "Celtic War: Lee vs. McEwan" was presented by DiBella Entertainment in association with Golden Boy Promotions.

Cotto said after the Margarito fight he would fight anyone but on top of
all that Sergio Martinez is a really great fighter but to fight those guys that
he wants to fight he will have to lose a lot of weight wich means he will enter the ring
weak by fluctuating weight. I mean sergio martinez an idiot. I thats the case I believe pac, mayweather, cotto would fuck him up. Now talking about Chavez jr. I believe Sergio will kick his ass. What I don't understand about Martinez is why lose weight.

its tru, pac has been fightin has beens.fighters who were good at 1 point in their career, but not wen they fought pac, & roach keeps on puttin these weight restrictions on pacs opponants,which givs pac the strength advantage.pac will not fight martinez EVER.props 2 mw 4 choosin 2 fite a young hungry champion in ortiz BUT if mw doesnt grow a set of balls 2 fite pac pac after ortiz then pac will choose to fite another fighter comin off a big loss,sum1 like berto,or mayb even ortiz IF mw beats him

@raybarcenillaaa Martinez less than $1 million on his best fight. Pacquaio makes 10 times more than that just on pay per view royalties. In terms of making money, Martinez is a BUM, but the greatest BUM is his promoter Lou DiBella. DiBella can't even fill a small cafeteria to listen to him on his best day. Look at the video. How many attended?
