It's a huge shame that films like this have not yet been released on DVD, the 30's, 40's and 50's have many of the very best films ever made, I wish the studios or whoever owns the rights to these films would pull their fingers out and release them on to DVD.
Too bad they don't offer a segment of Van Johnson flying the P-38 doing aerobatics and combat scenes too. That was some of the only (until recent airshows) REAL footage of the P-38.
Wanting someone to be proud of you and "Bragging and dancing" are two very different things....I'm basing my statement on countless interviews, reading journals, letters, diaries, etc....
"Never" is an awfully encompassing word. Between themselves, likely not, but in private to your civilian girlfriend, who you want to be proud of you? Very likely, I'd think.
WWII pilots never danced around and bragged about their medals. Nice pic, some great pics of the Lightning, but Van Johnson simply has no clue about how Air Corps pilots were....(perhaps it's the writers I should rag on)

Van is piloting his P-38 to heaven. RIP and thank you for your class and grace.

Damn! I've only seen bits and pieces of this movie and I haven't seen this scene. What would they play if she says no?
