  • The best album of 2010 thus far. Shearwater is Okkervill River's more talented sibling.

  • Beautiful, passionate, and inimitable. Jonathan Meiburg is one of those musicians who transcends contemporary music with his pensive lyrics and mellifluous vocals. One must listen to and watch this video a few times, to fully comprehend the depth and breadth of this unique performer... Absolutely brilliant song! Not enough stars to rate this performance. Kudos, my friend... Shearwater ROCKS! Can't wait to see you guys live! Regards, Jeff :)

  • that was a penguin running on grass no? at 2:10 ish...

  • Only these guys could make a solo/non production video so surreal.

  • @spiff10009 i wouldn't go that far...okkervil river and shearwater have completely different musical goals. okkervil river is hyper-literate and more pop-rock oriented while shearwater is going for a lush, natural sound; the lyrics merely reflections on their ethos.

don't get me wrong. i love both bands...but one is no more talented than the other...they're equally gorgeous, albeit in different ways.

  • You Sir, are a genius.

  • Saw JM and the band in Dublin in 2008, simply put, sublime- love the way he uses an ethereal beauty to depict man's destruction of the planet, Rook was utterly brilliant, this album likewise, Blue Water White Death, his latest incarnation, surely the Great White can swim freely as he has a champion in JM looking over it

  • . . . same here ; dougie in austin

  • I heard this song on KUT in Austin recently and was immediately in love with it. Must buy the CD.

  • Brilliant, simply brilliant. I'm from Holland and I've seen them four days ago, it was wonderfull. This is a fantastic band.

  • Magnificent, Wonderful music...:-)

They just played in the Milky Way in Amsterdam( my favourite joint for live bands)...on the 17th of Feb...Guess i missed my boat...Tell me when you are going Jeff and i'll join your crew...

Thanks Matador... and Jeff for the Share of Great Music!..:-)
